It’s Showtime! Tickets Available Online for Opening Weekend at The Tull Family Theater
The Tull Family Theater will open on Friday, Feb. 17, launching new cinematic options to people living beyond Pittsburgh’s metro core.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.thetullfamilytheater.org. The website also has details on showtimes for the opening films: La La Land, Fences and The Eagle Huntress.
La La Land, which has been nominated for 14 Oscars and just won the Best Film award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), will show in the Large Screening Room at 11:30 a.m., 2:15 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Oscar-nominated Fences, written by the late Pulitzer-winning Pittsburgh playwright August Wilson, was filmed in Pittsburgh by director/leading actor Denzel Washington and award-winning actress Viola Davis. The film will be seen in the Huntington Bank Screening Room at 2:40 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Huntington Bank Screening Room also will host The Eagle Huntress, a family-oriented documentary, at 12:30 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The film follows a Mongolian girl as she becomes the first female in centuries to break through the eagle training tradition, as well as the youngest entrant in a noted eagle hunting competition. Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley narrates the story recognized for its production, cinematography and music and as an audience favorite in Amsterdam, Aspen, London, Melbourne and around the world.
From this weekend launch, the theater will continue its extended soft opening, operating seven days a week, including the Monday, Feb. 20, President’s Day holiday.
The box office opens 30 minutes before the first screening of the day, when tickets can be purchased in person with credit and debit cards and cash (no personal checks). Ticket prices are $11 for general admission, $8.75 for seniors 65 and older, college students and children ages 10 and younger. Group rates for 10 or more, also $8.75, are available with advanced registration with the box office.
