Patty brings an unusual combination of skills to the board with her engineering and business background. She has 25 years of experience in project management and business plan development, and has held leadership positions at General Electric, Booz Allen and Hercules.
She’s been a nonprofit heavyweight for more than 10 years. A parent liaison to the American School in London, she continued her volunteer work when she, her husband and four children moved to Sewickley in 2009. Sewickley Civic Garden Council, Little Garden Club and the Sewickley Public Library have and are enjoying her support (she’s current vice president of the library board).
Patty also made time to join Pittsburgh Social Venture Partners, consulting with innovative nonprofits in Allegheny County on their strategy and business planning. Her dedication to the theater initiative meant she served as acting treasurer before she became treasurer of the board.
Patty holds two undergraduate engineering degrees from Carnegie Mellon and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business, where she met her husband, Harris Jones. Writing, hiking, gardens and good books fill up what’s left of her spare time. Wonder where she gets her inspiration and drive? Chariots of Fire, her all-time favorite movie.
