Karen Ferrick-Roman

Director of Communications and Education

Karen, an award-winning reporter, editor and communications professional is a nationally published writer and freelancer. She shifted from a career in journalism, primarily with the Beaver County Times,  into public relations and served for 10 years as assistant director and manager of media relations at Duquesne University before joining The Tull Family Theater. A former adjunct faculty member at Penn State Beaver and Robert Morris University, she holds undergraduate degrees in journalism and sociology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a masters in journalism and communications from Point Park University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Duquesne University.

A longtime resident of the Beaver Falls area and the mother of two young professionals, she is a currently active on the boards of the Merrick Art Gallery and the Pittsburgh chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, and volunteers with Moon Community Access TV. She will stay to watch movie credits, an ongoing irritation to her family.
